West Saanich Medical Clinic is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Episodic Care team, supporting same-day and urgent primary care access for the Westshore community.


This role is ideal for an NP who enjoys episodic, urgent, and acute care, values team-based practice, and wants to make a meaningful impact improving access while supporting attachment to longitudinal primary care.

The Clinic

West Saanich is a busy, community-based primary care clinic serving West Saanich. The clinic provides episodic and urgent care to unattached and attached patients while working closely with Patient Medical Homes to support long-term attachment.


The Opportunity

Under this PCN NP Service Contract, the successful NP will:

  1. Provide episodic, acute, and urgent primary care (CTAS 4–5 equivalent presentations)
  2. Deliver culturally safe, trauma- and violence-informed care
  3. Support underserved and priority populations, including unattached patients
  4. Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary, team-based care mode

Care includes:

  1. Assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of urgent and acute conditions
  2. Minor procedures (e.g., suturing, minor burns, respiratory concerns)
  3. Family planning and sexual health services
  4. Same-day appointments with limited virtual follow-ups where clinically appropriate

Schedule & FTE

  1. On-site, face-to-face care during clinic operating hours
  2. Shifts and schedules agreed collaboratively and designed to support sustainability

Compensation

  1. $171,533 per 1.0 FTE (annualized)
  2. Hourly rate: $102.10/hour
  3. Paid monthly via Island Health upon invoicing
  4. Rates are subject to provincial adjustments and COLA increases under Ministry agreements

Qualifications

  1. Registered Nurse Practitioner in good standing with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives
  2. Enrolled with MSP
  3. Eligible to work under a PCN NP Service Contract
  4. Professional liability protection through CNPS
  5. Commitment to culturally safe, patient-centred care

Support & Practice Environment

This role is proudly supported by the South Island Primary Care Society, which provides full clinic operations, leadership, and administrative support. This allows NPs to focus on clinical care rather than the burden of running a practice.
